Geometric Progression

The general form of geometric progression is:

a, ar, ar2, ar3, ar4, ..

Formula:

tn = arn-1

where a, the first term

r, the common ratio

Example:

Find the 7th term of the Geometric sequence 64, 16, 4....

Solution: a = 64, r = 16 / 64

r = 1/4

tn = ar7–1

t7 = ar7–1

= ar6

t7 = 64(1/4)6

= 64(1/4096)

t7 = 1/64

Hence the 7th term of Geometric sequence is 1/64

Fractions help

Some notes about fractions in math:(Free Fraction help)

The proper fraction, improper fraction is types of fractions & each type of fraction is differing in values. The proper fraction has large value in denominator & the improper fraction has little value in denominator.
The rules for adding fractions in math:

The following rules are helping the student for adding the fractions.
Rule 1: The least common multiple is determined if the denominator values of fractions are differing.
Rule 2: The least common multiple is multiplied with numerator value & add those values.
Rule 3: If they adding the fractions with mixed numbers means first alter the mixed number in to improper fraction.

Algebraic problems

Algebraic formulas

Take a glance at the equation below. As you can see, after the variable is subtracted from the left and the constants are subtracted from the right, you are still left with 2x on one side.

Preliminary Equation / Issue x + 23 = 3x + 45

Subtract x from each side x - x + 23 = 3x - x + 45
Result 23 = 2x + 45

Subtract 45 from each side 23 - 45 = 2x + 45 - 45
Result -22 = 2x
2x = -22

The following steps used to construct the histogram in definition of histogram tutoring:

Step 1:

here in histogram data ranges are dividing by equal intervals in a column. For example (0 to 5, 5 to 10, and 10 to 15)

Step 2:

We need to create x-axis and y-axis. X-axis represented by horizontal position and y-axis represented by vertical position.

Step 3:

Given data (class intervals) are plot into x-axis (horizontal position).

Step 4:

Given data (frequency) are plot into y-axis (vertical position).

8th Grade Algebra

8th Grade Algebra:

Example Problems for 8th Grade Algebra I:

8th grade algebra i – Example: 1

Solve: 10(q – 8) – 16q - 20 = 3(q + 15)

Solution:

Given expression is

10(q – 8) – 16q - 20 = 3(q + 15)

Multiplying the integer terms

10q - 80 – 16q - 20 = 3q + 45

Grouping the above terms

-6q - 100 = 3q + 45

Add 100 on both sides

-6q + 100 – 100 = 3q + 45 + 100

Grouping the above terms

-6q = 3q +145

Subtract 3q by on both sides

-6q – 3q = 3q +145 – 3q

Grouping the above terms

-9q = 145

Divide -9 on both sides

q = 145/-9

q = (145)/(9)

Answer: q = 145/9.

solved pre algebra problems

let us know solved pre algebra problems

Pre algebra is the basic for mathematics. Pre algebra using letters, general Verification of relations and other symbols to represent specific sets of values, numbers vectors, etc., in the character of such relations. It deals the topics such as numbers, expressions, variables, equations, word problems, polynomials. Let us solve some sample problems on pre algebra.

Some Concepts in Pre algebra :

Concepts of algebra

Terms are the part of expression that is connected with plus and minus signs

Coefficients are the numbers in the terms with variables combined in it.

4x2 + 2y + 8xy + 16

Here Coefficient of x2 is 4

Coefficient of y is 2

Coefficient of xy is 8

In any expressions, x and y are called as variables. We call them as variables because these numbers may vary , one or more numbers for the variables can be assigned for the expression.

In the expression 4x2 -5y2+ 3xy + 6 the variable terms are x2, y2, xy.

In any expression which contains only numbers without variables are called as Constants, because their values never change.

In the expression 2x2 -3y2+ 7xy + 5 the constant term is "5."

One or more terms in certain phrase, is called Algebraic Expression. It includes variables, constants and symbols. Symbols such as plus and minus signs. It's only a phrase, not the whole sentence. So it never include equal sign.

Expression: x2 + 3y + 8xy + 14

Equation consists of expressions that are separated by the equal sign. By using expression on one side and equals with their values on the other side.

our artical on " pre algebra help" will guild students in learning math.

Elementary Geometry

Point : It is an exact location. It is a fine dot which has neither length nor breadth nor thickness but has position i.e., it has no magnitude.

Geometry Constructions

Axioms : The self-evident truths or the basic facts which are accepted without any proof are called axioms.

Types of Angles

Reflex Angle : An angle whose measure is more than 180o and less than 360o is called a reflex angle.

Theorem on Geometrical Figure Lines

If two lines intersect, then the vertically opposite angles are congruent.

Parallel Lines

Two lines are parallel if they are coplanar and they do not intersect each other even if they are extended on either side.

Transversal of Lines

A transversal is a line that intersects (or cuts) two or more coplanar lines at distinct points.

Theorem on Alternate angles.

If a transversal intersects two parallel lines, then each pair of alternate angles are equal.

Converse of Theorem on Alternate angles

If a transversal intersects two lines in such a way that a pair of alternate interior angles are equal, then the two lines are parallel.

Theorem on Supplementary Angles

If a transversal intersects two parallel lines, then each pair of consecutive interior angles are supplementary.

Converse of Theorem on Supplementary Angles

If a transversal intersects two lines in such a way that a pair of consecutive interior angles are supplementary, then the two lines are parallel.

Interior Angles of a Triangle

In a triangle when we refer to an angle, we mean the angle bounded by the two sides. The three angles lie in the interior region of the triangle. These angles are called the interior angles of the triangle.

Theorem on Interior Angles and Exterior Angles of a Triangle

If a side of a triangle is produced, the exterior angle so formed is equal to the sum of the interior opposite angles.

Angle Sum Property of a Triangle

A triangle is a plane closed geometric figure formed by three line segments joining three non-collinear points.

Triangle Sum Theorem

The sum of the three angles of a triangle is 180o.
